The 80th Executive Council (EC) meeting of the Pacific Area Standards Congress (PASC) took place on 10 October in Kigali, Rwanda, alongside the ISO AM. Delegates from 17 member countries gathered for a dynamic and collaborative session focused on shaping the future of regional standards cooperation.

Key outcomes included the endorsement of a roadmap and work plan for the development of PASC’s new strategic plan. The EC also prioritised strengthening ties with the IEC Asia-Pacific Cooperation Forum (APCF), recognising the value of continued collaboration between the two organisations.
A highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the PASC Meritorious Award to Ms. Chantal Guay (SCC, Canada), honouring her six years of dedicated leadership as PASC EC Chair. Mr. Cheong Tak Leong was also named a recipient of the award, which will be formally presented at the upcoming PASC AGM 48 in Singapore.
The EC expressed its sincere appreciation to Mr. Zul Amri for his dedicated service as PASC Secretary over the past three years, acknowledging his commitment and contributions to the organisation.
Looking ahead, the 81st EC meeting is scheduled to be held virtually on 10 March 2026, continuing PASC’s momentum in advancing regional and global standards collaboration.
