PASC Working Groups
PASC’s strategic priorities are overseen and managed by the following Working Groups.
Working Group 1 – Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
CONVENOR: Standards Australia (SA)
Objectives:
- Increase awareness of PASC and its members’ efforts among key external stakeholders, including cooperation with other regional groups.
- Enhance knowledge exchange about the activities of PASC and its members.
- Promotion on the benefits of standardisation.
Working Group 2 – Capacity Building
CONVENOR: Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC)
Objectives:
- Strengthen capabilities and competencies of PASC members in both international and national standardisation activities.
- Contribute towards ISO and IEC capacity building, research and innovation, and training and education activities.
- Extend technical assistance to strengthen the national quality infrastructure (QI) of developing countries in Asia Pacific through collaborations with our partner organisations (e.g. APEC SCSC, APEC SRBs, etc.).
Working Group 3 – Technical Collaboration
CONVENOR: Standardization Administration of China (SAC)
Objective:
- Coordinate on technical issues, foster knowledge exchange among PASC members, and promote cooperation in technical areas of shared interest
Working Group 4 – Policy and Governance
CONVENOR: American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
Objectives:
- Enhance communication and partnerships in trade facilitation with Partners in targeted regional organisations to support government and industry efforts in trade facilitation.
- Enhance effectiveness of PASC meetings to better address members’ needs.
- Enhance partnerships with other regional organizations to promote cooperation on matters related to international standards in the PASC region.
Working Group 5 – Digital Transformation
CONVENOR: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)
Objectives:
- Facilitating digital transformation of PASC members.
- Systematically collect and analyse user feedback on ISO/IEC digital programmes / initiatives to ensure PASC’s region-specific needs are reflected in the digital solutions developed at the international level.
- Support capacity building of PASC members by organizing workshops, webinars, and training on digital technologies and standardisation processes (including workshops with support of ISO/IEC).
